Bluemont Hotel

Christmas at Bluemont Hotel? Yes, please!

What’s your favorite family Christmas tradition? Many families have fond memories of decorating the tree, baking holiday cookies, wrapping presents, and sipping hot cider by the fire. Spending time with your loved ones is the most precious part of the holiday season. At the Bluemont Hotel, we love hosting families during the holidays and helping them enjoy their quality time together.

For the last few years, the Walters family has gathered at the Bluemont Hotel to celebrate the holidays. Reuniting at the Bluemont, at this time of year, is not only special for this group because of the holiday, but also because of the activities and experience they can do together at the hotel and in the Manhattan area.

My oldest brother, Robert, had been battling cancer for approximately eight years. His wife had the idea of having a family reunion. Options were Salina, then Wichita; both of those were shot down and I suggested Manhattan. It’s right in the middle of where most of our family lives. People love coming to Manhattan! I knew there’d be a lot of things I could take care of. We talked about having a primary location for everyone to gather. I said…let me call my friends at The Bluemont. The two reunions we’ve had have both been right before New Year’s Eve.

Why Christmas at The Bluemont Hotel

For the Walters family, and many other groups during the holiday season, choosing the Bluemont Hotel has been a family decision. With family members located all over the country, Manhattan, Kansas is right in the middle and a perfect location for an annual reunion. Spending time together during Christmas until right before New Year’s Eve has been such a pleasure for the Walters family. With family coming from all over the Kansas City area, as well as Omaha, Wichita, Topeka, Salina, and more – the Walter’s are grateful to find a primary location to gather together and enjoy the season! Matt Walters says that his favorite part of their annual Bluemont Hotel reunion is “simply having the family all together in one place”.

Each day, your group can gather together for a complimentary breakfast of fruit, meat, pastries and eggs from 6:30am to 9:30am at the hotel. Enjoy sharing laughs, great food and taking pictures with the wonderful holiday decorations. One of the favorite moments that the Walters family enjoys is having breakfast together the day before they leave the area.

With multiple choices of comfortable, large suites, you’re family and friends will feel luxurious and taken care of each day of their trip. And don’t forget about your furry friends! Don’t worry about a pet-sitter during the holidays because the Bluemont is a pet-friendly hotel! There is nothing better than coming back to a beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable room after a long day of activities, catching up and making memories!
